Good evening to all families.
This is just a friendly reminder that if you would like to speak about your child's progress in French, you will need to book a separate interview with their French teacher, Mme. McConville.
Thank you. I look forward to meeting with you next week.

Making Connections
In class we are working on the reading strategy, "Making Connections." Here is a video you can use to review this strategy with your child.
Making Connections Clip
When your child reads at home, ask them questions about the connections they can make to themselves, other texts, and the world.
Happy Reading!

Place Value Test Coming Up!
We will be having a Place Value Test on Tuesday October 8th. Note that we have been and will be continuing to work on all concepts involved. We may have some quizzes leading up to Tuesday as well.
Your child will need to know how to do the following:
1. Represent numbers in a variety of ways (ex. pictures-base ten, ten frames, tally marks, expanded form)
2. Decompose numbers by identifying how many tens and how many ones make the number (ex. in the number 47, there are 4 tens and 7 ones).
3. Rounding 2 digit numbers to the nearest 10.
4. Comparing and ordering numbers.
